Severe monsoon rains caused widespread flooding across Pathanamthitta district, leaving several towns and villages submerged under rising floodwaters. As rivers overflowed and water levels continued to rise, rescue teams launched large-scale evacuation operations to move residents from affected areas to safer locations. More than 500 people were successfully rescued by personnel from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Fire and Rescue Services, police, and local volunteers.
