Kerala Cricket League to Introduce IPL-Style Hawk-Eye DRS for 2026 Season

The Kerala Cricket League (KCL) is set to introduce an IPL-style Hawk-Eye Decision Review System (DRS) for the 2026 season, marking a major advancement in the league’s use of sports technology. The introduction of Hawk-Eye technology aims to improve the accuracy of umpiring decisions by assisting officials in reviewing close calls such as LBW appeals, edges, and other disputed decisions. This initiative will make the Kerala Cricket League one of the few domestic T20 competitions in India to adopt such advanced officiating technology.

The Hawk-Eye DRS system uses multiple high-speed cameras and advanced ball-tracking software to analyze the ball’s trajectory and provide accurate visual data during reviews. By enabling players to challenge on-field decisions, the technology enhances fairness, transparency, and confidence in match officiating. League organizers believe that the addition of DRS will significantly improve the overall quality of the tournament while providing players and spectators with a professional cricketing experience similar to that of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
